A holistic approach

Life throws many surprises at us, and while we cannot predict the outcome of any situation, we can take control of how we respond to certain situations. Holistic psychotherapy is an integrative approach that  focuses on the relationship between mind, body, and spirit.   Through talk therapy we can work to help you overcome negative beliefs, anxiety, or depression.  This is done by helping you to explore the connections between your thoughts, physical experiences, and spiritual understandings.  In achieving a deeper understanding of these parts one can began to experience increased self awareness and self acceptance. In addition, talk therapy provides a safe space to explore life transitions, self-esteem issues, and relationship dynamics.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an evidenced based model used to treat trauma and stress related disorders.  According to the EMDR International Association,  EMDR can be used to treat the following issues: 

  • Anxiety, panic attacks, and phobias

  • Chronic Illness and medical issues

  • Depression and bipolar disorders

  • Grief and loss

  • Performance anxiety

  • PTSD and other trauma and stress-related issues

  • Sexual assault

  • Sleep disturbance

  • Substance abuse and addiction

  • Violence and abuse

Explore Negative Self Talk

When we experience traumatic events it can cause us to develop unhelpful thinking patterns. Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is an evidenced based treatment model that can help you challenge unhelpful or negative thinking patterns that are related to traumatic events.  CPT is a structured treatment model that involves weekly therapy sessions and daily homework.  In most cases CPT can be complete in 12-26 weeks.  CPT is most effective for clients who meet the criteria for a diagnosis of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  Please reach out for a consultation or schedule an appointment if you are interested in this type of treatment.
