Kristina is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker specializing in trauma and perinatal mental health. She graduated with dual Bachelors of Arts degrees in Economics and Hispanic Studies from Boston College in 2012 and spent the next 8 years working in the financial tech industry. In 2020, Kristina decided to leave the corporate world to pursue her passion for mental health and graduated from Simmons University in 2021 with her Masters of Science in Social Work. Prior to entering private practice, Kristina gained a passion and expertise in helping clients heal from trauma through her work with refugees and asylum seekers at the International Rescue Committee and adult and child survivors of intimate partner violence at Genesis Women's Shelter and Support. Kristina is trained in various evidence based modalities for trauma therapy, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and loves working with clients to understand how their trauma has impacted them and how to heal to achieve the life they’re hoping for.

 

After the birth of her first child in 2022, Kristina gained a new perspective on the wide array of joys and challenges that accompany the perinatal period and different seasons of parenting. Kristina holds her Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C) from Postpartum Support International and pursues ongoing education to remain at the forefront of perinatal mental health treatment. Kristina has experience working with clients at all stages of the perinatal journey, including conception, pregnancy, postpartum and parenting as well as specialized training in working with perinatal trauma including infertility, miscarriage and infant loss, and birth trauma.

 

Kristina’s approach to therapy is client-centered and strengths based. She believes everyone can benefit from therapy as they work to confront traumatic experiences and everyday stress. Kristina is committed to creating a supportive and non-judgmental therapeutic environment for clients to explore their feelings and work through difficult issues. She has experience working with individuals from a wide variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds who are struggling with anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, loneliness, grief, intimate partner violence, life transitions, pregnancy and parenting. Kristina is an in-network provider with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, Lyra and UnitedHealthcare or offers a private pay rate of $180/session for individuals or $225/session for couples.
